Nelson is a member of the Civil Litigation practice group. He regularly appears as counsel in matters before the Ontario Divisional Court and the Superior Court of Justice. He has experience representing clients in the following areas:
Commercial Litigation: Acting for individuals, corporations, and landlords in cases involving shareholders, contractual, and commercial leasing disputes.
Real Estate Litigation: Acting for sellers and buyers in failed real estate transactions; Acting for co-owners in partitions and sales of properties; Acting for mortgagees in power of sale proceedings.
Franchise Law: Provide sound advice to franchisors and franchisees concerning disclosure compliance and rescission remedies under the Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure), 2000.
Construction Litigation: Acting for owners and contractors in disputes involving construction liens, construction deficiencies, and renovation disputes.
Appeals: Representing clients in appeals from administrative tribunal, arbitration, and trial decisions.
Nelson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, and his law degree from Queen’s University. As a law student, he represented low-income clients in administrative law matters at various community legal clinics. Nelson is a board member of the Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County.
Nelson is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. In his spare time, Nelson enjoys exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations in Japan, improving his ski technique, and supporting his beloved football team Arsenal F.C.

Gilroy v. Clarke, 2022 ONSC 7364: Successfully obtained a $125,000 judgment against a seller who failed to close a real estate transaction.
Abara v. Hall and Lee, 2022 ONSC 7093 (Div. Ct.): Acted for the tenants in an appeal before the Ontario Divisional Court concerning the jurisdiction of and procedural fairness in hearings before the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Yu v. Tsang, 2022 ONSC 1814, 2022 CarswellOnt 15093: Acted for the majority shareholder and corporation and successfully resisted an oppression remedy application brought by a minority shareholder and moved to convert the application to an action.
Virey v. Virey, 2021 ONSC 2893: Acted for the estate trustee in a dependant’s relief application.
