Kayla is a lawyer in the Civil Litigation practice group at SV Law, where her practice encompasses commercial, construction, and estates disputes. Kayla also represents healthcare, and other regulated, professionals in regulatory and civil matters.
Kayla articled and practiced as an associate at a national full-service law firm, where she gained experience working on administrative and regulatory matters, and giving advice on highly sensitive and urgent public law matters.
Kayla received her JD at the University of Ottawa in 2021. As a law student, she worked as a caseworker for the Refugee Hub, and was heavily involved in the Faculty of Law’s competitive mooting program. She competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the International Criminal Court Moot Round for the Americas, winning awards for both written and oral advocacy. Kayla was also a research assistant, and interned with the Department of Justice in the Civil Litigation Section and Global Affairs Canada.
Before attending law school, she received an Honours Bachelor of Arts with distinction and completed a Masters in History at McMaster University.
