Marni is a member of our Labour and Employment Practice Group, Civil Litigation Practice Group and Condominium Law Practice Group.
Marni provides strategic advice and representation to employers on a broad range of legal issues arising from the workplace. With a deep understanding of the complexities of employment law, Marni is dedicated to helping her clients navigate the legal landscape with confidence.
As a highly skilled employment lawyer, Marni provides a wide range of services including advising on employment contracts, wrongful dismissal claims, human rights complaints, health and safety, workplace investigations, and more. Marni’s strategic approach and in-depth knowledge of the law have led to numerous favourable outcomes for her clients in and outside of the courtroom.
Marni is an effective advisor and negotiator, and where possible, Marni strives for a prompt resolution of legal disputes. However, where early resolution is not possible, Marni is ready to advocate for her client’s interest through formal litigation.

Marni’s clients include condominium corporations, small businesses, startups, and multinational corporations across various industries. Marni is known for her exceptional communication skills and her ability to build strong, lasting relationships with her clients. She takes the time to understand clients’ businesses and works closely with them to meet their specific needs and develop effective legal strategies that align with their goals.
Condominiums and Property Management Firms
One of Marni’s focused areas of practice includes representing and advising property management firms and condominium corporations who employ building superintendents and/or other building maintenance staff. As a member of SV Law’s esteemed Condominium Law Practice Group, Marni is familiar with the unique issues that can arise in these workplaces and is able to work with condominiums’ boards of directors and their property management teams to proactively manage risk and resolve workplace issues and disputes.
Executive Employees and Plaintiff-Side Employment Law
Marni also provides advice and counsel to executive employees with respect to various aspect of the employment relationship including employment contracts and offers, wrongful dismissals, bonus concerns, promotion, resignation, retirement, and other employment law matters.
Community Involvement
As active community volunteer, Marni serves on the Board of the Guelph Wish Fund for Children.
Marni grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland but has called Guelph her hometown since 2005 and is happy to live and work in the community. Outside of her practice, Marni enjoys playing tennis, painting, and spending time with her family.
