Jamie maintains a broad litigation and advisory practice.

While Jamie provides general commercial litigation services to a variety of clients, he also focusses his practice in the following specific areas:

Real Property Disputes: Jamie advises and represents landowners engaged in real property disputes, including encroachment, adverse possession, easement/right-of-way, and road access disputes.

Municipal, Public, and Administrative Law: Jamie provides clear counsel to private and public sector clients distilling complex legislative regimes, including those governing municipal administration, municipal access to information and privacy protection, land use planning, natural and cultural heritage preservation, provincial public lands, federal railway lands, agricultural supply management, aggregate resources, and many others. He also represents clients before a variety of boards and tribunals, and in judicial review and statutory appeal litigation before the Divisional Court, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal.

Condominium Governance: Jamie represents condominium corporations in governance and compliance litigation in the Condominium Authority Tribunal and the Superior Court of Justice. Notable decisions include: (1) the related decisions concerning solicitor-client privilege in the condominium records context in: Kore v. Niagara South Condominium Corporation No. 12, 2022 ONCAT 19 and Anderson v. Niagara South Condominium Corporation No. 12, 2022 ONCAT 28; and (2) the appellate decision respecting the costs jurisdiction of the Condominium Authority Tribunal in: Halton Standard Condominium Corp. No. 617 v. Roberts, 2022 ONSC 1477.

Aboriginal Law and Indigenous Peoples: Jamie provides consultation and accommodation-related counsel to clients operating in the municipal, and land development realms. He also assists Indigenous clients with dispute resolution processes, including First Nation election and governance-related litigation. Notably, he appeared as co-counsel at the Federal Court of Appeal in: Buffalocalf v. Nekaneet First Nation, 2024 FCA 127.

Jamie completed his Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Hons.) at the University of Waterloo (2016), and his law degree at the University of Ottawa (2020). He later completed his articles at SV Law, and worked as an associate with the firm after his Call to the Bar in 2021. After working as an associate with a small firm focused on Aboriginal law and Indigenous legal issues, Jamie returned to SV Law in 2023.

Outside of the office, Jamie is an outdoors enthusiast. In the summer, he enjoys backcountry canoe camping in northern Ontario. In the winter, he enjoys downhill skiing in Québec. Jamie is also an avid (and often crestfallen) Toronto Blue Jays fan.
