Jamie is a litigation lawyer working within SV Law’s Civil Litigation, Municipal Law, and Condominium Law practice groups.
While Jamie’s practice is broad, his work is particularly focused in the following areas:
Municipal Litigation: Representing private and public sector clients in municipal and land use planning-related Ontario Land Tribunal, and Superior Court of Justice proceedings.
Property Boundary Disputes: Representing landowners in property boundary disputes, including easement, right-of-way, and road access litigation.
Condominium Litigation: Representing condominium corporations in governance-related litigation in the Superior Court of Justice, and the Condominium Authority Tribunal.
Administrative Law and Arbitral Review Litigation: Representing clients in judicial review and statutory appeal litigation before the Divisional Court, and the Federal Courts. Jamie also has experience with private law arbitral review proceedings in the Superior Court of Justice.
General Commercial Litigation: Representing clients in general commercial litigation in the Superior Court of Justice, and the Small Claims Court.
Jamie obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo, and his law degree from the University of Ottawa. He completed his articles with SV Law, and worked as an associate with the firm after his Call to the Bar in 2021. After working with a small litigation firm focussed on Indigenous legal issues and Aboriginal law, Jamie returned to SV Law in 2023.
Jamie continues to provide Indigenous consultation and accommodation-related counsel to clients operating in the municipal and land development realms. He also has experience assisting Indigenous clients with dispute resolution processes, including First Nation election and governance-related appeal and judicial review litigation.
Outside of the office, Jamie is an outdoors enthusiast. He enjoys backcountry canoe camping, and is currently trying to explore as many of Ontario’s provincial parks as possible. In the winter, Jamie enjoys downhill skiing. Jamie is also an avid (and often crestfallen) Toronto Blue Jays fan.
