Nivala practices in the areas of family law and wills and estates. Nivala assists clients with a variety of family law matters, including marriage, separation, divorce, parenting and property issues. In her wills and estates practice, Nivala advises individuals and families on a broad range of estate matters, including wills, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, guardianships, and the administration of estates and trusts.

In both areas of practice, Nivala brings a thoughtful and strategic approach to each matter, working closely with clients to understand their priorities and achieve outcomes that protect their interests and the well-being of their families.

Nivala is a member of the Waterloo Law Association and the Wellington Law Association. She is an active board member of the FRIENDS of Waterloo Region Museums.

Outside of her practice, Nivala enjoys travelling, hiking and biking, and spending time with family and friends.
