Nelson is a litigation lawyer with experience representing clients before all levels of court in Ontario. He has been lead counsel in trials, applications, and appeals, as well as mediations and arbitrations.
Nelson’s practice focuses on the following areas:
Commercial Litigation: Acting for individuals and corporations in cases involving shareholder, contractual, and commercial leasing disputes.
Real Estate Litigation: Acting for sellers and buyers in failed real estate transactions; Acting for owners in partition and sale of properties; Acting for lenders and borrowers in power of sale proceedings.
Franchise Law: Advising franchisors and franchisees on disclosure compliance and franchise termination (rescission under the Ontario Arthur Wishart Act).
Construction Litigation: Acting for owners, tenants, and contractors in disputes involving construction liens and construction deficiencies.
Nelson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, and his law degree from Queen’s University. Since 2022, Nelson has been serving on the Board of the Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County.
Nelson is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. In his spare time, Nelson enjoys exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations in Asia and Europe, improving his ski technique, and supporting his beloved football team Arsenal F.C.

- Acted for the tenants in an appeal before the Divisional Court concerning the jurisdiction of and procedural fairness in hearings before the Landlord and Tenant Board.
